Me and Anxiety

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?”

Matthew 6:25

As the school year has been progressing, a lot of things, have not been necessarily working out the way I want them to.

My classrooms are flooding with students, and my pay schedule has been off. I have four classes with over forty students. In addition, the Lord God has been orchestrating specific circumstances, pushing me to be a dance sponsor and a ninth grade class sponsor. I admit I dislike making fast decisions, it’s uncomfortable. However, I am no longer allowing my fears of tomorrow to rob me of my joy and peace, today.

“14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep.16 I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.” (John 10:14-16)

Jesus, my Good Shepherd led me through trial, after trial. Did I come out unscathed? Hardly. I acquired emotional and mental scars, but I came out a stronger person, and most importantly a more faithful, and wise child of God. As the Lord God’s sheep, it is not my job to know where I am going. My eyes are fixed on the Shepherd, my Lord Jesus. He holds the rod and staff. He is light, alighting the darkness of the valley of death. Jesus knows what I am going—He also knows where you’re headed as well.

Jesus loves His sheep. He will leave the ninety-nine to find the missing one. Jesus is committed to our growth, our development. He cares about our tomorrow, so much, He encourages us to leave our worries at the Master’s feet. Take care of completing the responsibilities that are set for you today. Each day has enough “responsibilities.” Don’t move ahead of the shepherd. What can worrying accomplish? What power do you have to control or influence anything? Jesus Christ holds all the power and with all power and authority He was raised from the dead.

Know He has both your and my future in the palm of His hand, and you, Beloved are in the apple of His eye.
